Attention Queers, Questioning, and Allies at Queen's (and anywhere in Kingston & surrounding areas/schools)!
The Education on Queer Issues Project (EQuIP) is a student-run organization under the Social Issues Commission at Queen's University. Its purpose is to create a safe environment for individuals on Queen's campus and in Kingston of all sexual orientations and gender identities. EQuIP strives to create a fun, welcoming, and educational community for queer and queer-positive individuals while advocating for human rights and raising awareness about Queer-related issues.
Everybody is welcome! You do not have to be a Queen's student, or even a student at all, to become a part of EQuIP! In fact, you do not have to identify as 'queer,' an 'ally,' or anything! As long as you have a kind heart and an open mind, we would love to have you!
If you are interested in volunteering or applying to be a committee member, contact Jessie at equip@ams.queensu.ca. Otherwise, everyone is welcome at all of our meetings and events (with no sign-up necessary)!
EQuIP meetings for the 2011-2012 School Year take place every Monday from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM in the Performance Lounge in the JDUC (located at the North-East Corner of University & Union)!
Note: If you miss Queerientation and/or our first meetings, it does not mean that you shouldn't come to later meetings and events! Anyone is welcome to join or stop by at any time throughout the year!!!
Meetings will not take place during Christmas holidays and Queen's Reading Week.
